  At first the service was quite poor. After being seated, it took some time for a waiter to acknowledge us. That was the only hiccup. My wife had a steak sandwich with fries and soup of the day. The soup was fantastic. I had a burger, fries and side salad, all of which were excellent. A bit expensive for what we were given, but I would return.

  Food was amazing, had the elk poutine and elk burger and they were outstanding. Absolutely delicious. Service was great, quick and on top of everything. Loved our waitress. Loved sitting beside a real fireplace. Only negative thing I have to say is one employee making loud abscene jokes. Not something that really bothers me, but not very professional. Our waitress apologized for him because he was so obnoxious. Will definitely be back however.

  I have been here many times over the years but the service we received today was inattentive, at best. Food showed up at the the table incomplete and the server just pre set her tip into the debit machine with validating that was the customer wish. The food and drinks where good when they finally got to our table.

  When we arrived, the restaurant was not busy at about 10-20% capacity. By the time we finally got through our meal, it was closer to 80% on the main level. Sad, sad experience for my new-to-Banff guest.

  The buttermilk chicken was beyond delicious and it was a great deal on a Wednesday for $11 with sides. It was moist and full of flavor, we substituted our sides for only $1. We also tried the elk poutine which came out super quick. It was my girlfriend's first time eating elk and was impressed by the amount of elk, cheese and gravy, they didn't hold back. Definitely a place to stop in and grab a bite if you are in the area.

  The Elk Nacho was superb -- the elk was just perfect! Not gamey, not chewy, it was just right. It was very savoury, and really paired well with the nachos. The elk pizza didn't quite match it, in terms of flavour. The pizza was much milder; delicious, nonetheless. Atmosphere was very welcoming, very cozy. Great for groups. The view from inside is fantastic -- although, you're in the Rockies, all around is beautiful.
